According to the Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics 2025, published by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, Andhra Pradesh contributed 18.37% of India’s total egg production in 2024–25, making it India’s leading egg-producing state.
For wholesale, retail and institutional buyers, that concentration of production matters. It means the state has an established ecosystem of farms, feed supply, tray manufacturing, transport operators and traders who understand the rhythms of commercial egg supply.
Why production is concentrated here
Commercial poultry clusters tend to develop where several conditions come together: access to feed ingredients, experienced farm labour, road connectivity to large consuming markets, and a network of traders and distributors. Over several decades, many parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh have developed exactly this kind of ecosystem. Knowledge is shared between farms, service providers are close at hand, and buyers know where to look for volume.

- Proximity to source. Buying close to where eggs are produced can shorten the time between collection and delivery, which supports freshness.
- Choice of suppliers. A dense producing region gives buyers the opportunity to compare suppliers on consistency, communication and reliability — not only on price.
- Established logistics. Tray handling, loading and transport of eggs are well-understood activities in a mature producing region.
Choosing a supplier within a large market
Scale at state level does not automatically translate into dependability at the level of an individual supplier. Buyers should still ask practical questions: how orders are confirmed, how quantities are planned, how eggs are inspected and packed, and how the supplier communicates when conditions change.
